Lenox Lounge To Be Demolished for Large Commercial Business, Records Show

HARLEM — Demolition permits have been issued for the famed Lenox Lounge to make room for a four-story, 15,000-square-foot commercial space, records show. The Department of Buildings issued a permit to H&O Engineering on April 24 to demolish the two-story building at 286-288 Lenox Ave., documents show. The demolition application was approved in December 2016.

An anonymous Midtown East-based LLC has filed applications for a four-story, 18,987-square-foot commercial building at 286 Lenox Avenue. That’s between West 124th and 125th streets in Harlem. The project will include 15,012 square feet of commercial space in total.
College of New Rochelle Moving Harlem Campus Within Neighborhood

The College of New Rochelle is relocating its 25-year old Rosa Parks Campus in Harlem to a new location within the neighborhood this fall. Commercial Observer has learned that the school has signed a 10-year, 21,684-square-foot lease at 313 West 125th Street, which is between St. Nicholas Avenue and Frederick Douglass Boulevard.
